He also completed twenty-seven graduate hours towards Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Georgia Tech in 1978. His post college educational experience includes the IBM Application Development Process independent study course; seven weeks of AT&T UNIX/C Language training; twenty-five weeks Telecommunications and Computer training at AT&T; MCI’s Advanced Technical Marketing training; numerous product training seminars; Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and the TRA Emerging Technologies seminar. Mr. Montgomery has been a member of The Institute Of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 1986 and follows closely the technical literature involving the Internet, telecommunications and computer systems. Mr. Montgomery is currently on assignment at BellSouth in the Operations Software Development (OSD) division implementing and project managing their DOORS Requirements Management System. Mr. Montgomery spent three years as the Operations Manager in a Web based start-up company (NEA) developing internet based services for the Dental Industry. He was responsible for recruiting and managing four UNIX/C++ programmers, Manager R&D, Unix System Administrator and a four member Technical Support staff. He selected all hardware and software platforms, telecommunications equipment/vendors and developed Services. Mr. Montgomery is a major stockholder in NEA and reported to the CEO. From August 1990 until January 1997 he was employed at MCI as a Technical Consultant III in National Accounts Marketing and Senior Product Manager in Carrier Marketing responsible for Inbound, Outbound, SS7, internet, Frame Relay, ATM/Sonet, International Private Lines, Domestic Private Lines and Switched Data Services. Also, he was responsible for Advanced Applications Development, managed field support and program development for a $700M revenue base. From 1980 until 1990 he held various positions within BellSouth and AT&T including Consultant - Advanced Residential Communications Environments and Manager of an ISDN Technical Development Group. From 1967 to 1969 ITE Imperial Corporation employed him as a Special Projects Supervisor performing traditional Industrial Engineering studies and managing a cost reduction program in a manufacturing environment. In addition, Mr. Montgomery owned and operated a chain of Women’s Ready-To-Wear stores with locations in Atlanta, Nashville and Raleigh. He has also owned and operated a restaurant. Mr. Montgomery has been married for 30 years and has a twenty year old son. He is an active member of Roswell Presbyterian Church where he and his wife have taught Sunday School. Mr. Montgomery is an elder and has served on Session as well as the Board of Directors of the Mount Vernon Presbyterian School.
